Fake News is Back

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert return to the airwaves to add "truthiness" to what has been a largely humorless primary season. Despite their Writer's Guild of America affiliations, Colbert and Stewart are going to go it alone in delivering the fake news in the only way they can--with pluck and luck. As they can not actually write their own material without violating their WGA agreements.

Meanwhile, the WGA will be busy picketing outside the studios of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report when they return to the air Monday without their writers.

According to the WGA (and I don't know if this is written by them or a scab writer)

“These pickets will be against the media conglomerates – NBC and Viacom - and not the specific hosts, who we understand were forced to return to the air without their writers who remain on the picket lines,” WGA East spokesman Sherry Goldman said.

The guild will be picketing at:

* The Daily Show studios at the corner of 51st Street and 11th Avenue from 4 to 6 p.m.;
* The Colbert Report studios, 513 West 54 Street, between 10th and 11th avenues, from 5 to 7 p.m.;
* NBC, 30 Rockefeller Plaza on 49th Street from 3 to 5 p.m. (NBC Studios is the location where Late Night With Conan O’Brien tapes).

Perhaps Stewart and Colbert will cover this story live?

Or perhaps Ron Paul will get face time given his free market penchant.
