John Edwards Rural Recovery Road Show

John Edwards will be in Muscatine on Saturday. I'm sure some reporters will be more interested in who is cutting his hair than his plans for rural America, just as there was for Barack Obama's home and patrons or Hillary Clinton's drawl.

4/19 Update: CNN reports Edwards repaid his campaign for his haircuts and said "Political candidates often have hair and makeup done before media appearances. Edwards rival Hillary Rodham Clinton got some attention last year when her campaign paid $2,500 for two hairstyling sessions that the campaign classified as media production expenses."

Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards will visit Iowa on a three-day swing this week to discuss with caucus goers his plan to revitalize rural America through a “Rural Recovery Act.”One of his public stops will be at noon Saturday, April 21, at Muscatine High School commons, 2705 Cedar St.

Edwards, former senator from North Carolina and John Kerry’s running mate in the 2004 election, said Wednesday in a news release that his plan would restore economic fairness and create new jobs and businesses in rural America, help struggling counties and towns and protect rural people and their way of life.
