The Sunlight Foundation, which is a non-profit that pushes for government transparency apparently wrote a story back in May largely discounting the accounts of Peter Byrne and his allegations against Sen. Dianne Feinstein and her husband's company receiving largess from her via MILCON, a senate subcommittee which she formerly served. Take a look.
Of course, this does not rule out wrongdoing, but it questions the reliability of the information presented as fact. But even addressing this, there are more questions raised, given the source of the rebuttal and his employer.
