IOWA CIVIL RIGHTS LOBBY DAY

Everyone’s help is needed—gays, lesbians, and straight allies, parents, grandparents, educators, employers, people of faith, concerned citizens, and all those interested in creating communities free from discrimination—to talk to Iowa legislators.

Wednesday, March 14, 8:30 a.m.-afternoon, CIVIL RIGHTS LOBBY DAY at the State Capitol in Des Moines.

Join the coalition, including Iowa Safe Schools, One Iowa, The Interfaith Alliance of Iowa, Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa, and the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, to convince our elected officials that we need to ban discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Iowans! Never lobbied before? No worries, we will have plenty of experienced volunteers to help you out. Your stories and experiences are critical in convincing our Legislature to ban discrimination against LGBT Iowans. Can’t make the whole day? No problem. One or two hours or anytime you have to talk to legislators will truly make a difference!

Check in between 8:30-9 a.m. at the Iowa State Capitol. Meet at the table inside the south entrance.
